A winter weather advisory is in effect for the area through early evening:
A thin layer of freezing mist fell early this AM and that put a small “crust” on the top layer of snow. However, as we head into late morning, the crust will break and we will see more widespread blowing snow after 10am. We may see some additional snow showers into early afternoon which will further reduce visibilities at times below 1/2 mile. Conditions will slowly improve this evening as winds relax a bit after sunset. Be prepared today for reduced visibilities and blowing snow causing very slippery travel.
