Near Critical Fire Conditions Return Today and Tomorrow

Near critical fire conditions are back as relative humidity (RH) values drop back into the 20% range this Wednesday afternoon. Southerly winds have picked up between 10-20 mph gusting to 30 mph within the Red River Valley and surrounding area leading. As high temperatures reach the 80’s on Thursday (10/10/24) RH will drop even lower into the teens to 20’s% values over a much wider area. Winds on Thursday are also expected to be breezy to windy as another cold front approaches. Out of the southwest for most of ND between 10-25 mph, then 15-30 mph in western North Dakota behind said cold front.
