Yes, the milky hue of the skies is indeed haze. Over the next several days it will be very hazy in locations across the country, especially the Upper Midwest. Surface-air qualities will likely take a hit occasionally as we will mix some of the upper level haze down to the surface. As numerous wildfires continue to burn across Canada and the United States, the haze will likely continue to affect locations across the country over the next several weeks.
