Most of the nation is in the grip of some pretty darn cold air. Everywhere east of the Rockies is experiencing some kind of winter headlines:
All the “blue” are cold weather warnings/advisories. BUT…..take a look at the pink along the Gulf Coast. Those are WINTER STORM WARNINGS!!! Absolutely incredible!!! Now let’s take a look at Louisiana:
That Red from Port Arthur Texas through Lafayette Louisiana is a BLIZZARD WARNING!! This is the FIRST TIME on record that a blizzard warning has been issued for the Lake Charles area where 2-6″ of snow is expected. To us, that’s nothing but for the deep south, that’s incredible. A once in a lifetime storm if you will.
Now, our weather will moderate some over the next 24 hours then we are up and down through the weekend with some light snow late today into tonight then again on Friday. Total snow would be 1/2″ to 1″ I don’t see the BITTER cold air returning for awhile so that is good news.
