(Brooklyn, NY) — The Minnesota Timberwolves picked up a pair of players during the first round of the NBA Draft in Brooklyn.
Minnesota began the night by trading for the No. 8 pick in a deal that sent a 2031 unprotected first round pick and a 2030 top-one protected pick swap to San Antonio. The Timberwolves used the eighth pick to take Kentucky guard Rob Dillingham before using the 27th pick to select Illinois guard Terrence Shannon Jr.

Dillingham averaged 15.2 points and 3.9 assists in 32 games with the Wildcats last year, while Shannon averaged 23 points per game with the Illini. Minnesota is schedule to pick at 37 in the second round on Thursday afternoon.
