Wild collapse in loss to Red Wings

(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Wild had their three-game winning streak snapped with a 3-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings at the Xcel Energy Center.

Marco Rossi and Jakub Lauko both scored for Minnesota in the first period before Detroit knocked in three unanswered goals to end the game. Minnesota surrendered a season low 16 shots on net, but Filip Gustavsson only saved 13 of the shots he faced.

The Wild remain in third place in the Central Division with 72 points and a 34-20-4 record. They visit the Utah Hockey Club on Thursday night.

In other team news, Joel Eriksson Ek was placed on injured reserve yesterday after suffering an injury in practice.
