(Eagan, MN) — The Minnesota Vikings are bringing in some depth to their backfield. The team traded for Houston running back Cam Akers yesterday. Minnesota sent a conditional sixth round pick to the Texans, and the Purple also received a conditional seventh round pick.
Akers played for Minnesota during the 2023 season before tearing his Achilles tendon. The 25-year-old has rushed for 147 yards and has two total touchdowns this season.
Akers and the Vikings take on the Lions in Minneapolis this Sunday.
