(Tampa, FL) — The UConn women are back on top of the college basketball world. The Huskies blew out South Carolina 82-59 in the National Championship from Tampa.
Sarah Strong and Azzi Fudd scored 24 points as UConn claimed its NCAA record 12th title in school history. Strong also added 15 rebounds for the Huskies. Hopkins, Minn native, Paige Bueckers dropped 17 points and six rebounds in the win.
Joyce Edwards and Tessa Johnson netted 10 points for the Gamecocks, who failed to repeat after winning last year’s championship.
