(St. Petersburg, FL) — The Minnesota Twins left seven runners on base during a 2-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field.
Carlos Santana gave the Twins an early 1-0 lead with a solo home run in the top of the second, but Minnesota gave up two runs in the bottom of the fourth. The Twins went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position, and David Festa was charged with his fifth loss after surrendering two runs on five hits in five innings.
The Twins remain in second place in the AL Central at 75-63, but they’ve dropped to 4 1/2 games back of first-place Cleveland.
Ronny Henriquez is slated to start for Minnesota against Tampa Bay on Wednesday beginning at 5:50 p.m.
