The Minnesota Twins bullpen failed in a 3-2 loss to the Kansas City Royals on Thursday afternoon. The Royals won three of the four games in the series from the Twins.
Bailey Ober struck out four batters over six innings while only giving up one run in a no-decision. Cole Sands only recorded two outs in relief as he gave up two runs and was eventually tagged with the loss. Danny Coulombe recorded a single out while Louie Varland tossed a shutout inning.
Ty France hit a solo home run, his second of the season. It was a 411-foot shot to left center field. Ryan Jeffers drove in Minnesota’s second run.
The Twins will now host the Detroit Tigers in a three-game weekend series beginning on Friday night at 7:10 p.m. David Festa will get the nod for Minnesota while Reece Olson counters for Detroit.
