Twins blow six run lead, drop series rubber match to Astros in extra innings

The Minnesota Twins blew a 7-1 fourth inning lead, falling to the Houston Astros 9-7 in 10 innings in their series rubber match on Sunday afternoon.

Trevor Larnach drove in three runs. Ryan Jeffers added two RBI. Carlos Correa and Byron Buxton drove in a run apiece.

Chris Paddack gave up four runs over four innings in a no-decision. Griffin Jax blew the save giving up a two-run homer in the ninth inning. Louie Varland was tagged with the loss after he gave up two runs in the 10th inning.

The Twins will now hit the road to visit division rival Kansas City for a three-game series beginning on Monday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. with Simeon Woods-Richardson getting the nod for Minnesota while Michael Lorenzon counters for the Royals.
