(La Quinta, CA) — JT Poston is sitting atop the leaderboard after the first round of the American Express at La Quinta Country Club.
Poston shot a 10 under 62 in the opening round and has a one stroke lead on the field. Justin Lower is sitting in second at nine under par. Joel Dahman, Matti Schmid, Chris Kirk, Jason Day and JJ Spaun are in a five-way tie for third at eight under. Defending champion Nick Dunlap is tied with several players for 28th at five under par.
Tom Hoge is currently tied for 65th at three under par. Hoge will tee off his second round at 11:47 a.m.
Ryan Palmer and Ben Martin will be among the first group of players teeing off round two of the tournament at 10:30 a.m.
