(London) — The Americans closed out the USA Basketball Showcase with a win. LeBron James and Team USA defeated Germany 92-88 in London in the final tuneup before the start of the Paris Olympics.
James scored a game-high 20 points to go along with six rebounds and four assists. The country’s flag bearer sealed the game by scoring the final 11 points for the team in the competitive matchup. Joel Embiid chipped in with 15 points and eight boards, while Stephen Curry finished with 13 points. Anthony Edwards added 11 points, two rebounds, and two assists.
Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner led Germany with 18 points in the losing effort.
The Americans will begin Olympic group play on Sunday, Jul 28 at 10:15 a.m. against Serbia with game coverage available on NBC.
