The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks edged the Sioux City Explorers 2-1 in Game 1 of their West Division opening round series.
Orlando Rodriguez gave up one run over 4 ⅔ innings in a no decision. Davis Feldman tossed three innings in relief, earning the win. Park Harm recorded one out in the game. Alex DuBord tossed a shutout ninth inning, striking out the side and picking up the save.
Juan Fernandez drove in a run for Fargo-Moorhead in the fifth inning. The team’s game-winning run scored on a wild pitch in the eighth inning.
The series will now shift to Newman Outdoor Field for Game 2 on Friday night. Fargo-Moorhead leads the best-of-3 series 1-0, if necessary a decisive Game 3 would be on Saturday evening in Fargo.
