NDSU WBB adds Grand Forks native Schiller from transfer portal

After a breakout True Freshman season in her hometown of Grand Forks, ND at the University of North Dakota, guard Jocelyn (Jocie) Schiller has found a new home.

The 2024-25 Summit League Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Year has made to decision to head South on I-29 to Fargo and join the North Dakota State University Bison. This past season she averaged 13.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. While starting in all 31 games at UND, she tallied a league-high 89 assists while also leading her team with 40 steals. Schiller scored double-figures in 23 of 31 games along with a stretch of 17 straight games in double figures. In Summit League play she averaged 16.3 points per game, the most among the conference’s freshmen.

Head coach Jory Collins gave his thoughts on the addition of Schiller saying, “We couldn’t be more excited to add Jocelyn Schiller to our program. She had a fantastic freshman campaign earning Summit League Freshman of the Year. Her competitiveness, toughness, work ethic, and winning attributes are things we’ve admired about her for a long time.” He continued,  “Jocelyn will be a tremendous fit in our locker room and on our team. We’re very fortunate to have her continue to represent the great state of North Dakota as a Bison.”

NDSU is coming off of a second straight 20 win season while also advancing to the WNIT’s Great Eight for the first time in program history.
