The Bison started off their scoring hot, dropping the first eight points of the game in just under two minutes.
North Dakota State did lead for much of the first half, mostly by double digits as well. However, after Masen Miller made a three-point basket with just above three minutes to play in the first half, Kansas City sprouted a 9-0 run capped off by a Devontae Hall three pointer, to give the Roos a one-point lead against the Bison, heading into the half.
Coming out of the halftime break, buckets weren’t easy to come by, for both sides. Five minutes into the second half, had seen just four made baskets from the field from both sides combined.
After a timeout, it seemed as if the Bison had finally figured it out. A Noah Feddersen made three pointer around the 13 minute mark had given the Bison the lead, their first since right before the conclusion of the first half. With 10 minutes left in the game, guard Jacari White hit a three-pointer, which ultimately started a 10-2 run by the Bison. This 10-point run gave the Bison the lead again, one that they never gave back. The Roo’s hung close to end the game, but never could recapture the lead, resulting in a 71-64 Bison Victory.
Senior Jacksen Moni continued his amazing stretch of Basketball, ending his night with 24 points, grabbing eight rebounds, while shooting a perfect 10-10 from the charity stripe.
Kansas City was lead in scoring by Sophomore Jayson Petty. The guard finished with 19 points, finishing 6-17 from the field.
The Bison move to 3-2 in Summit League play, 14-6 overall. The Bison will be back on the court, Saturday, traveling to the University of South Dakota, to take on the Coyotes. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
