(Minneapolis, MN) — A pair of Minnesota Twins players are getting recognized for being some of the best hitters at their positions.
First baseman Carlos Santana and utility man Willi Castro were both named finalists for the American League Silver Slugger award at their respective positions. The Silver Slugger is given to the best hitter at each position in each league. Santana hit .238 with 23 home runs and 71 RBI last season, while Castro had a .247 batting average, 12 home runs, and 60 RBI.
The Silver Slugger winners will be revealed on November 12th.
