Lynx fall to Liberty in decisive WNBA Finals Game 5

The Minnesota Lynx fell to the New York Liberty 67-62 in overtime in Game 5 of their WNBA Finals series.

Napheesa Collier paced the Lynx with 22 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks. Kayla McBride added 21 points, five rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Alanna Smith and Natisha Hiedeman added six points apiece.

Jonquel Jones led the Liberty with 17 points and six rebounds. Jones was named the series MVP. Breanna Stewart added 13 points, 15 rebounds, and three blocks for New York.

The Liberty outscored Minnesota 7-2 in the overtime period. This is New York’s first WNBA championship.
