Gophers fall short against Michigan

(Ann Arbor, MI) — A botched call by the referees cost the Minnesota Gophers a chance to complete a 21-point comeback during a 27-24 loss to the No. 10 Michigan Wolverines at Michigan Stadium on Saturday.

The Gophers recovered an onside kick with under two minutes left in regulation, but the officials ruled that one player was offsides despite video evidence to the contrary. Max Brosmer passed for 258 yards, a touchdown, and one interception in the losing effort, while Darius Taylor scored a pair of touchdowns. Minnesota fell to 2-3 overall and 0-2 in the Big Ten.

The Gophers host No. 15 USC on Saturday.
