(Minneapolis, MN) — The Twins have won a playoff series for the first time in over two decades after sweeping the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League Wild Card Series.
Minnesota beat the Jays 2-0 in Game Two at Target Field yesterday. The game was tied in the bottom of the fourth before Carlos Correa hit an RBI single. Max Kepler scored later in the frame when Willi Castro grounded into a double play. Correa also made some big plays on defense, helping to pick off Vladimir Guerrero Jr. at second base in the fifth and starting a bases-loaded double play in the sixth.
Minnesota will take on Houston on Saturday to begin the American League Divisional Series.
