WASHINGTON – President-elect Trump endorses Speaker of the House Mike Johnson to remain in the role.
In a Truth Social post, Trump said, “Speaker Mike Johnson is a good, hard working, religious man. He will do the right thing, and we will continue to win.”
Trump’s endorsement comes as the House is set to vote on a new Speaker on Friday once the new Congress is sworn in. Johnson has faced some criticism from fellow Republicans over his handling of different issues, including a spending deal that prevented a government shutdown earlier this month.
