(ST. PAUL, MINN) – A Warren, Minn., attorney has been disbarred from practicing law in the state of Minnesota.
Anders Odegaard pled to beating his wife Carissa to death in front of their children at his home in Warren and was subsequently sentenced to 220 months in prison. The act happened in August 2022.
In disbarring Odegaard, the court said they consider four factors in determining the appropriate discipline to impose – the nature of the misconduct, cumulative weight of the disciplinary violations, harm to the public and harm to the legal profession.
“Odegaard murdered his ex-wife in front of their minor child. This is extremely serious misconduct,” the court wrote in its ruling.
