(Bismarck, ND) — A constitutional initiative that – if enacted – would eliminate property taxes will be on the ballot this fall in North Dakota.
According to yesterday’s press release from the office of Secretary of State Michael Howe, backers of the measure had submitted more than enough signatures to clear the way for the constitutional initiative to go before voters in the state’s November general election. If the tax is eliminated, North Dakota reportedly will need to come up with roughly $1 billion in additional revenues to make up for the shortfall.
