Nursing homes in North Dakota receive incentive pay for improved care

(BISMARCK) — Nursing homes in North Dakota are receiving incentive payments for improved resident care in the state. North Dakota Health and Human Services says it’s the Nursing Facility Incentive Program, and it’s a development through a partnership with the North Dakota Long Term Care Association. It provides an annual payment to facilities based on their performance in four Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services resident care and facility process measures: urinary tract infections, antipsychotic drugs, pressure ulcers and hospitalizations. State lawmakers approved funding for the program during the 2023 legislative session.
