(BISMARCK, ND) – The North Dakota Senate State and Local Government Committee heard testimony on a bill that would require the state to observe standard time year-round.
“Daylight Savings Time does not create daylight,” said Jay Pea, President of the non-profit group Save Standard Time. “It is a mandate to wake early and sleep less.”
Speakers in opposition of the bill say eliminating dayligiht savings time has implications. Those impacted include border cities, construction companies and tourism related businesses, says Greater North Dakota Chamber President Arik Spencer.
No action was taken.
