(FARGO, ND) – North Dakota House member Jim Kasper says money poured in from the opposition to Measure 4, the property tax measure, was part of the reason that the measure failed in Tuesday’s general election in North Dakota.
Additionally came pushback from organizations across the state.
“The hundreds of organizations, or more, who are the beauracracy that think they would be impacted talked about loss of local control,” he said. “Which is an absolute lie.”
Kasper said the measure before voters on Tuesday did not contain anything relating to loss of local control.
“They created doubt,” he said. “They scared the people.”
A bill to provide relief and reform is going to be presented to the North Dakota Legislature in their upcoming session.
