ND House to vote on allowing remote voting

BISMARCK, N.D. – North Dakota House lawmakers are expected to vote Wednesday on bringing back a pandemic rule allowing remote voting.

The North Dakota Monitor says the House Rules Committee voted unanimously to give the Speaker of the House authority over whether lawmakers can participate by remote during floor sessions or committee meetings.

Speaker Robin Weisz of Hurdsfield says a member would have to have a good reason to request remote participation.

Voting by remote is already allowed in the State Senate.
