Minnesota’s Republican Congressional members call on Walz for answers ‘to concerns about the Child Care Assistance Program’

(WASHINGTON, DC) – The four Republican members of Minnesota’s Congressional delegation are calling on Governor Tim Walz for answers to concerns about the Child Care Assistance Program.

In a letter to Walz, members Pete Stauber, Tom Emmer, Brad Finstad and Michelle Fischbach call on Walz’s administration to provide documentation and communications regarding a total of 62 active investigations into childcare centers.

“Minnesotans deserve better leadership,” the Republicans said. “And they deserve transparency.”

The Minnesota Department of Human Services say the investigations are underway. One daycare center received 95 violations in a four-year period beginning in 2019, including exposure to hazardous items and insufficient record-keeping.

The Congressional delegation says the documentation and communications ‘will allow us to provide critical oversight of your administration’s questionable operation and failure of management.”
