(Fargo, ND) — Minnesota’s elected leaders have differing opinions about President Joe Biden’s decision to end his re-election campaign.
Many DFL leaders thanked Biden for his service to the country, with Governor Tim Walz calling Biden an “American hero” on social media.
Others like Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar voiced their support for Vice President Kamala Harris as the prospective Democratic presidential nominee.
Minnesota Republicans were nearly unanimous in their calls for Biden to resign from office, with Congressman Tom Emmer saying Biden has shown he is “unfit to control our nuclear codes.”
