(EAST GRAND FORKS) – A pair of complaints to the Minnesota Department of Health has led to substantiated concerns at an East Grand Forks assisted living facility.
According to public data from the Minnesota Department of Health, the first case at Edgewood East Grand Forks Senior Living alleged that the facility ‘neglect the resident when staff failed to address a change in the resident’s condition following a fall, resulting in delay of care.’ In the case, the Department of Health determined neglect was substantiated. The second case alleged that the facility ‘neglected the resident when they failed to ensure the resident was provided appropriate treatment after the resident developed a fever and a red spot on her leg.’ In the case, the Department of Health determined neglect was substantiated.
Edgewood Healthcare CEO Phil Gisi says Edgewood Healthcare is ‘the first company in the upper Midwest to hire physicians and nurse practitioners that work exclusively in assisted living environments,’ and that the practice is being implemented in East Grand Forks.
