Minnesota Car Insurance rates increase by 55% in 2024

WDAY RADIO — Car insurance rates in Minnesota have increased by 55% this year, the highest in the nation.

A report by Insurify finds the average comprehensive insurance plan in Minnesota now costs over $2,000, up from $1,500 last June, with further increases expected. The rise in rates is attributed to factors such as severe weather, particularly hailstorms, which have led to more expensive repairs and increased claims.

While Minnesotans may see steady rate increases in the future, the state’s insurance rates still rank 19th in the nation.
