Legislative session begins in Bismarck

(BISMARCK, ND) – The biennial session of North Dakota’s citizen-led legislature kicks off today at the North Dakota State Capitol in Bismarck.

Lawmakers will gather today for a joint session of the House and Senate to hear messages from a variety of groups. The tribal-state relationship message will kick off the day at 10 a.m., followed by the State of the Judiciary Address at 11 a.m. Governor Kelly Armstrong will deliver his first State of the State Address to conclude the addresses beginning at 1 p.m.

Legislators will begin their second day of the session on Friday. They’re limited to a total of 80 days in Bismarck, which means their last possible day in the Capitol is May 2, unless Governor Kelly Armstrong calls them back in a special session.
