Larimore man to change plea in 2024 fatal shooting

(GRAND FORKS, ND) – A Larimore man is scheduled to change his plea later this month after a March 2024 shooting in Larimore.

Troy Larson was facing charges of murder, attempted murder and reckless endangerment stemming from an incident on March 23 of last year in which he shot at a man and a woman in a Larimore home. The shooting led to the death of 64-year-old Jamey Holweger.

An entry into Larson’s court record now indicates that the 43-year-old man will not go to prison since he was found not criminally responsible due to a mental health illness.

The court hearing is scheduled for January 24 at 9 a.m. in the Grand Forks County Courthouse.
