(GRAND FORKS) – Grand Forks Police are releasing more information regarding the events leading up to the lockdown of one of the city’s largest events centers earlier this afternoon.

According to Anna Rosburg, General Manager of the Alerus Center, the facility was placed on lockdown earlier Tuesday afternoon.

Grand Forks Police say they received a call for service regarding a suspicious device in the parking lot of the Alerus Center at just after 1:30 p.m. this afternoon. A perimeter was established around the device, and the Grand Forks Regional Bomb Team was activated to assist authorities with the incident. During the investigation, it was determined that the device was a concrete pressure meter, which posed no threat to the public.
