(EMERADO, ND) – A home is a total loss after a fire in Emerado.
Firefighters were called to a residential structure fire. When they arrived on scene, flames were discovered in the attic space. Firefighters deployed 2 hose lines in an attempt to extinguish the flames, however the fire extended to other areas of the structure.
It was determined that the home was occupied at the start of the fire, and all occupants were able to escape without injury. One firefighter was transported to Altru Hospital for injuries sustained on scene, and was released from the hospital a short time later and is at home resting.
The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation. The home was a total loss.
Emerado firefighters were assisted by the Grand Forks Air Force Base and Larimore fire departments, the Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office, the North Dakota Highway Patrol and ambulances from Altru and the Grand Forks Air Force Base’s 319th Medical Group.
