Delta flight heading to Minnesota nearly hits fighter jet

ARLINGTON, VA. – The FAA is investigating a near miss last week between two aircraft in the Washington D.C. region.

On Friday March 27th, a warning collision alarm sounded moments after a Delta flight bound for Minnesota took off from Reagan National Airport.

That’s when a military aircraft flew by at at a speed of more than 300 miles per hour and an altitude of 800 feet.

Delta confirmed 131 people were on board with three crew members and two pilots.

This comes two months after a plane collided with a helicopter near Reagan National killing 67 people.
