Companies are Limiting Oil Production Due to Fires in Western North Dakota

Wildfires in the western part of North Dakota are affecting the state’s oil production.  Nathan Anderson, Director of the Department of Mineral Resources, says oil companies in the state have voluntarily agreed to limit fire risks by pumping less oil.  Fires have burned an estimated 110,000 acres as of Thursday.  Oil production has not been related to the fires, but the companies are exercising caution by limiting production.  Several hundred wells are shutdown currently.
