Jury to resume deliberations Wednesday after not reaching a verdict in Nichole Rice murder trial

(GRAND FORKS, ND) – After more than four hours of deliberation, the jury in the Nichole Rice trial has been dismissed for the day.

Closing arguments got underway shortly after 1 p.m., with the jury receiving the case at shortly after 3 p.m. The State rested Monday afternoon, with Nichole Rice’s attorneys resting their case Tuesday morning.

The jury will return Wednesday morning to continue its deliberations at 9 a.m..

Rice faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole for the 2007 death of her then-roommate, Anita Knutson, in Minot.
