Central Cass building fund levy fails for third time

(CASSELTON) – A growing community in Cass County is searching for ways to address the growth within their school system, after a school building fund levy failed for the third time.

Superintendent of Central Cass Public School, Morgan Forness, says the current facility is at capacity, and the district is looking at the need to add space. A referendum to do that failed Tuesday in a special election. Forness says the district ‘has a responsibility’ to plan for the future. He said any future plans are on hold for now, and that there may need to be action by the North Dakota Legislature to help school districts deal with these types of situations.

Tuesday’s vote was the third for the district.
