Burgum, others reflect on Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library at beam signing event

(MEDORA) — Governor Doug Burgum, North Dakota’s Congressional members and other dignitaries, including Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library CEO Ed O’Keefe gathered Wednesday morning for a beam signing event, meant to mark the significant progress on the construction of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in Medora.

Construction began in the summer of 2023 and the library is slated to open in 2026.

Harold Hamm, a $50 million donor to the library, called Wednesday ‘a wonderful day’.

“It’s a day we’ve been looking forward to,” he said. “We’re proud to be one of the donors.”

Hamm said he shared the vision for the library that Governor Doug Burgum had.

“It’s easy to see where it was going and what it could become,” he said. “Everybody respects Theodore Roosevelt and what he stands for.”

Ross Perot, Jr., an American businessman, said he’s ‘excited and optimistic’ for the project.
