(NEWFOLDEN, MINN) – The superintendent at a northwestern Minnesota junior high school says a threatening statement was made between students.
Jeffrey Lund, superintendent at Marshall County Central Schools, says law enforcement were immediately called and the district worked to investigate the matter.
“The student who made the alleged threat will not be attending school for an indefinite period,” Lund said in a notification to families. He was unable to share additional details, but said there was no credible threat to the safety of students and staff.
“We take all threats and safety concerns seriously,” he said. “As always, if students see or hear anything that could impact the safety of our school community, we encourage them to report it to a teacher, staff member, parent, or other trusted adult immediately.”
