Full interview with Gubernatorial candidate Kelly Armstrong on The Flag’s What’s On Your Mind
(BISMARCK, ND) – After serving in Washington, D.C., since 2019, Congressman Kelly Armstrong is looking forward to coming home and serving as Governor.
“People are just more engaged and more interested,” Armstrong said. He says people are concerned with property taxes and illegal immigration.
“(Illegal immigration) isn’t a governor issue, but we’ve been involved in it,” Armstrong said.
He said people are frustrated with others making decisions about everyday life.
If elected Governor, Armstrong promises transparency within government.
He says the biggest challenge – regardless of whether or not Measure Four passes – will be property taxes. Measure Four seeks to abolish property taxes in North Dakota.
“We have to figure out a way to reduce and reform property taxes,” he said. “If we don’t figure out a solution for it if it fails, it’s not going to wait 12 years to come back on the ballot, nor should it.”
