Armstrong appoints cabinet members, retains several key leaders

(BISMARCK, ND) – North Dakota Governor-Elect Kelly Armstrong has announced several key appointments to his gubernatorial cabinet.

Joe Morrissette will serve as Armstrong’s Director of the Office of Management and Budget. He has nearly 30 years of experience working with the North Dakota state budget, state revenue forecast, and tax policy. He previously served as Director of the Office of Management and Budget under Governor Doug Burgum, where he was responsible for overseeing the state’s fiscal policy.

Chris Schilken has been tapped to lead the Department of Commerce. He recently served as Commissioner of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development in South Dakota, where he oversaw more than 200 projects and spearheaded initiatives in value-added agriculture, advanced manufacturing, infrastructure development, and workforce recruitment. His leadership contributed to billions in capital investment and the creation of over 10,000 jobs.

State Rep. Corey Mock will serve as the Chief Information Officer for the North Dakota Information Technology Department. He has over 15 years of experience in public policy, government affairs, and organizational leadership. In the state legislature, he served as Appropriations Ranking Member and chaired the Information Technology Committee, where he helped shape policies for energy, transportation, and government finance. He is also a realtor and leadership consultant, committed to helping organizations thrive.

In addition, Armstrong will retain several leaders within state government.
