(Fargo, ND) — North Dakota Secretary of State Michael Howe says he’s concerned about what data for early voting is indicating for tomorrow’s primary election.
“The 2022 numbers, we had 18.8 percent statewide turnout. If things hold right now, we might be in a similar disappointing number here in 2024, said Howe.
In an interview Monday, Howe said the state had 40,623 ballots cast for early voting and absentee ballots.
That’s 6.5 percent of all eligible voters in the state.
In the 2022 primary election, Howe says 106 thousand North Dakotans voted.
Voters still with absentee ballots have until 5 p.m. today to get those ballots postmarked.
Those ballots can also be dropped off today at county office buildings.
