North Dakota Ballot Initiative for General Election would aim to change voting methods

BISMARCK, ND — A group of North Dakotans is looking to add a measure to the November ballot that could change election rules in the state.

It is called the Election Integrity Act, and it looks to reform many things in our statewide elections if it passes in November. Secretary of State Mike Howe said the petition is being circulated now, and the committee has until July 18th to submit it to his office.  He worries that could delay the results for days or even weeks.

The proposed measure also looks to include reforms such as no early voting or mail voting except for absentee ballots, and would also get rid of ballot drop boxes and rank-choice voting.
