CINCINATTI, OH — A Minnesota congressman is helping Republican Senator JD Vance prepare for his upcoming debate against Governor Tim Walz.
Congressman Tom Emmer is being used as a stand-in for Walz ahead of next week’s debate. Emmer was chosen so that Vance could find ways to counter the Minnesota governor’s “folksy personality.”
Walz is also practicing ahead of the debate, with U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg standing in for Vance during rehearsals.
