UND Coach Brad Berry says traveling in the NCHC has changed

(TEMPE, AZ) – The University of North Dakota hockey team is in Arizona this weekend to take on the Arizona State University Sun Devils.

Head Coach Brad Berry says the ways of traveling over the years have changed. The team took a charter flight to Arizona, which is a regular mode of transit now.

“We changed a few years ago,” he said. “It’s a game breaker. When you think about student-athletes, the commitment they have on and off the ice, it’s a big deal.”

Berry said the team arrived on Thursday, practiced and had a meal together.

They’ll take the ice tonight and tomorrow night for games, before heading back to Grand Forks late tomorrow night. The change allows the student-athletes to adapt and better prepare for the next weekend’s games.
