Protestors gather in New York and Israel to rally against war in Gaza

NEW YORK, NY — Hundreds of demonstrators set off smoke bombs at a protest in New York City Monday as they demanded a ceasefire in Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza.

They took to the streets after the bodies of six more hostages were recovered over the weekend, among them American-Israeli Hersh Goldberg-Polin. In Israel, the number of protesters has been in the hundreds of thousands. They’ve gathered outside the home of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, many carrying mock coffins, and the U.S. Embassy where chants of “shame” could be heard.

President Biden was asked by reporters Monday if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been doing enough to secure a ceasefire deal and bring the remaining hostages home. His answer was “no.”
