Ohio town receives bomb threat after Trump amplifies claim of Haitian immigrants dogs and cats during debate

SPRINGFIELD, OH — The Ohio town where immigrants are being accused of eating dogs is now getting bomb threats.

The City Hall of Springfield, Ohio was evacuated Thursday because of a bomb threat that was emailed to multiple city facilities including some schools. Springfield Mayor Rob Rue told reporters the threat “used hateful language towards immigrants and Haitians” in the area.

The threats came just days after former president Donald Trump claimed immigrants in Springfield were eating dogs and cats. City officials say is an unfounded rumor and has hurt their community. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine (R-OH) says there are no evidence of cats, ducks, and geese being eaten by Haitian immigrants.
