(MINNEAPOLIS, MINN) – A Minneapolis man faces federal charges for threatening to murder a U.S. Congressperson.
Michael Lewis called the office of a U.S. Congressperson on March 26 and left a voicemail in which he threatened to murder her.
He is charged with one count of threatening to murder a U.S. official and one count of interstate transmission of a threat to injure. He made his initial appearance and will remain detained until his next hearing on April 23.
The FBI and U.S. Capitol Police led the investigation.
